About us
Early in 1970 my parents George and Rose Molnar started Molnar Welding in Lantz, Nova Scotia. Dad had immigrated to Canada from Hungary in 1956 and had many different jobs over the years. But in 1969-70 at the age of 33 he went back to school to learn the welding trade. He found work in the Halifax shipyards in 1972 and in 1975 he acquired his first welding machine. At that time he worked nights and weekends to help raise five children.
In 1985-86 I took my own training in the welding trade; I found work right away and gained experience at many different jobs until 1993, when I finally came to work with my father at Molnar Welding. In 1995 we incorporated as a limited company and began a steady growth. In 1999 we bought out a local machine shop and continued to grow.
Today we have twenty five employees, a customer base of over 300 and are still growing.
